Old stuff

Windows Live Movie Maker

Once again Microsoft has decided to reinvent one of its own wheels. The Movie Maker that we have in the lab, which ships with Vista and now Windows 7 looks like an almost-new interface. Some of you may have access to the old version, which i discuss and used here. But for tinkering today, we will need to look at the Live version. So here is the typically YouTube intro, and then here is a slideshow by Mindy McAdams (more thorough):

and a link to the rather limited help center. The good news is that it accepts MP4 which means you don’t have to convert your Flip files. We do now ave working copies of Prism here and in CNM if you need it. Here is a WMV clip and an MP4 to practice with.

Also, there will be some copies of Soundslides (demo) to practice with today, and CNM has 4 or 5 that you will have easy access to. Remember to save your project in a folder with all your images and audio, and bring that when you move to another computer.

Slides to import are linked below in Week 5 and also here, (double click on thumbnail, then Save Link/Target as) and here is an audio file to start with (right click save target/file as).
